Glitter, Glitz, and Stickles, OH MY!!

Project 365, Day 12, January 12, 2009

So, who out there is not absolutely in love with stickles? This was actually a picture of me behind the counter at the scrapbook store where I work part-time (Red Letter Journals). But, oh that was horrible!! The only redeeming grace was the marvelous display of stickles in the corner which I had to keep!!
Today our family joined our church in listening to a 28 minute a day reading of the New Testament. You can get a free download at FaithComesByHearing.com. It is a dramatic version, and very easy to listen to.

House of Worship

Project 365, Day 11, January 11, 2009

Psalm 122:1
I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the LORD.

I love my church, not the building, but the people. They have saw me through so much. I don’t know what I would ever do without the body of Christ. I tried to take pictures today, without being a distraction, they were just too blurry, so an internet picture will have to do!

Breakfast In Bed

Project 365, Day 10, January 10, 2009

Abby and I had an all night Gilmore Girls fest and overslept. It was so sweet to wake up to my hubby holding two plates of food (with enough for 6 people of course) to serve us breakfast in bed. He is always thinking of ways to make us feel special. What a blessing he is to me!! I am so thankful for a husband who loves on me and our children!!

Ephesians 5:28
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

His Holy Name Challenge 2009

Project 365, Day 9

It is probably cheating using this since I have to use it for another project a friend got me started on...not mentioning any names of course (Missey...) Some peer pressure is the best kind, I learned alot for this day's challenge!!

Revelation 4:8 Day and night they never stop saying: "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God Almighty, who was, and is, and is to come."

If I am to reflect on the study that I am sure is meant to come with this verse, I have to ask myself a couple of questions.

Where do I fall short here? When was the last time I fell to the floor and just cried Holy, Holy, Holy? If He truly is my Past, Present and Future as this verse says, have I just taken that for granted. How often have I said His name without the reverence that He deserves?
Thankfully, He is a God of second and third chances…

When God Says No

So I was reading a devotion and I thought this so appropriate for my life right now.

Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty John 6:35

There are times when the one thing you want is the one thing you never get...
You pray and wait.
No answer.
You pray and wait.
May I ask a very important question? What if God says no?
What if the request is delayed or even denied? God says, "I've given you my grace, and that is enough," will you be content?

Content. That's the word. A state of heart in which you would be at peace if God gave you nothing more than He already has.

In the Grip of Grace

I still wonder why in the world He would have said no... But the only thing that gives me peace is knowing this......

"better is one day in your courts, better is one day in your house, better is one day in your courts than thousands elsewhere"

My Collection

Project 365, Day 8, January 8, 2009

Today I thought I would share something I collect. I have always loved Willow Tree Angels. For some reason I have a bad habit of calling them Willow Creek, which drives my son crazy. Bethany (My Oldest) always told me they look ominous, whatever that means. My problem is, you can only have so many before you start looking like a retailer! My son got me the entire nativity for Christmas. It is just beautiful, I really struggled with putting it away. But my resolution was to get rid of the clutter. Why I can't stick with the diet thing is beyond me!!! Maybe I am trying to do too much, I think the first thing I should cut out of this whole resolution thing is the getting fit thing!!
Cya Soon!

Sadie Girl

Project 365 Day 7
January 7, 2009
Can someone explain to me why this dog can come to me with a chewed up shoe, place it in my hands and I still gotta hug her. She is so darn cute!! She got the hair cut from around her eyes the other day and she just prances around looking at everthing as though it was for the first time. She greets me, follows me, won't go out for daddy unless I get up, OY What have a created?

Whatever it is, it still feels good.

Are you there God, it's me Pati...

Project 365, Day 6, January 6, 2009

Do you remember that old book we passed around in Middle school by Judy Blume “Are you there God it’s me Margaret”. I do. I even remember wondering if He even knew I was there. If you have read any of my blog entries you will know that I seem to be going through a time in the wilderness, wondering where He is. I even promised myself and Him, that whether I felt it or not, I was going to continue on seeking Him, and let me feelings catch up.

Well, tonight I started going to a Beth Moore bible study on the book of Esther. This has always been my favorite book of the bible. I loved to read it because it is a story of a woman who was used in an amazing way by God to save His people.

However, until tonight I never realized that God was not mentioned anywhere in this book. I guess I always felt Him there as though he were carrying out the plan and using Esther, but it never says so. He was nowhere to be found on any of the pages.

Beth Moore asked if there was anyone out there who wanted a miracle and just did not get it, that felt that God was nowhere to be found, or that is going through a time of searching. Oh, was she speaking to me!

The point is that God was there, the bible says that ALL scripture is God Breathed so it came from Him. This book is a reminder that sometimes God does not step in and perform miracles, but that He is there in the midst using a woman, much like any one of us, with fears and insecurities, far from where she belongs to carry out His plan!

Ephesians 1:11 Even when we’re blind to the evidence, God works out everything in conformity with the purpose of His will.

Isn’t it awesome to know that He is in there in the midst, even when we are as far away as we could be, that He will never leave us or forsake us?

Project 365, Day 5...

Project 365, Day 5, January 5, 2009

Her Last First Day Back!
So this is how it feels. I had trouble even looking at her this morning. I could not believe that in just a few short months she will be graduating from college. It gets harder all the time to figure out my place in her world, she is a grown woman now. I can't find the words to say to her, to explain how lost I am in this new role. I still want the control I had, but I want to be her friend. I miss her. That is all there is to it. But with that being said, I am so proud of the woman she has become. I am amazed that I was blessed to be a part of her life. She has such compassion and strength. Although she would never admit it because she is also one of the most humble people I know. She is such an inspirational role model for anyone who crosses her path. She loves Jesus, and does more than talk it, she walks it.

My prayer for her is that she let's God lead her to the place He wants her. That she will begin realizing the joy He has taken in her life, and that she will let Him use her to change this world!! More than anything, I am thankful to watch it all play out for His glory!!

Jerimiah 29:11 For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, to give you a future and a hope.

Project 365, Day 4...

Project 365, January 4, 2009

Wow!! I can’t believe that I have accomplished this much in one weekend.. I am wondering if it is because I needed to take another picture for today, and was determined to redeem myself from the embarrassment of the pictures posted yesterday. Either way, it is done! I am so excited.

On another note, church was great today, I am so glad I went. I laid in bed and thought about just cheating and watching it on the internet, but I made a promise to myself that I was going to get spiritually fit, so I jumped out of bed and got ready in a flash. There is just something about being surrounded by people that care about you and want to build you up! A couple things I got from last week and this week…

People who Trust much, rarely Worry
People who Worry much, rarely Trust

Much Love, Little Fear
Much Fear, Little Love

1 John 4:18 There is no fear in love. But perfect Love drives out fear.

I have been so afraid to get close to God again because I constantly feel like I will be tested, and people will be taken away. I have lost my mom, a brother, a sister, a niece… But I can’t do this without Him anymore. Fear is not from HIM!!! I feel like a broken record… I just need to believe it!!!

Here is a great article on this scripture from Joyce Meyer.

God Bless! Try loving on someone today!!

Project 365, Day 3

Project 365, January 3, 2009

This was fun! Well on my way to organizing my house!! I decided to surprise my daughter with re-decorating her bedroom while she was in Arizona, participating in a National Band Competition with the Grove City High School Marching Band. I only wish I would have taken a before picture, you just would not believe it! I am so excited to show it to her!! The only thing left to do is the wall decorations. I am going to try using the cricut to make vinyl circles and squares, to keep with the theme!

Project 365, Day 2

Project 365, January 2, 2009

I am sure that I am not alone, that 90% of the people I know are also making this New Year's resolution. I need to lose this weight!! I have decided that I need to work on getting fit, physically and spiritually.

I want to get healthy, and get closer to God at the same time. How I am going to do it, I have no clue, I suppose that is why the saying "Just Do It" was written. And so begins my journey, one I have tried many times before, what have I got to lose, right? :)

Project 365, Day 1...

Day 1, January 1st, 2009.
Resolution Number 1 - Declutter my life... I hate clutter. I am constantly picking up and getting rid of anything in my path... Until it gcomes to my scrapbook room. I had some changes in my home recently, and had to move everything out of my room to make room for guests. Once life settled down, I put everything back in there, but I have too much stuff, and it is so unorganized. So here it is, for all the world to see, my most embarrasing room in the house... What have I done??? Stay tuned, this will definately be a "picture of the day later on", and it will be different!!

Project 365 Underway...

I have decided to start a project designed by Becky Higgins, Project 365. Each day I am supposed to take a picture, and journal it for an entire year! Wow... this should be interesting. Since it is already the 3rd, I will go ahead and add my first 3 pictures.. I hope to do this daily, but my life can get crazy!!
